History
ChARTs Resort´s main building with his first 4 Deluxe- Rooms and 2 Suites was designed and constructed in the year from November 2006 to the end of 2007, including the dolphin-shaped pool.
These rooms have been equipped with traditional Asian bamboo furniture & interiors. The target was to create a fresh, practical and clean accommodation with a well balanced and unique design. European standard combined with local charm was the challenge for German owner Sonja Schlenther who put her creative ideas and her passion for art & design in all interiors plus the resorts architecture & landscape with a passion for details.
In 2008 another building with 3 more Superior- Rooms and the first ART-Cafe in Bohol have been followed. This time the theme was more on Mediterranean in-built furniture and Filipino handicraft.
In 2009 an ART-Shop filled with mostly handicrafts from all over the Philippines and paintings from local Boholano Artists was added as another feature to ChARTs Resort, meanwhile accredited with the DOT (Department of Tourism) as a “Special Interest Resort”.
Also a “SPA-Villion” was created in the tropical garden offering different Wellness programs, like massages, manicure, pedicure, etc.
In 2010 the last complex was constructed to round up the resort with a “Chill-Out-Area & Bar” to give the in-house guests a relaxing meeting point. The Suites penthouse-terraces became a “facelift” with new cushion areas and tropical plants, the garden landscape has been improved. The ART-Cafe got an additional sun-roof terrace to invite people to enjoy the yummy extended Art-Cafe menu with new lunch-snacks and other delights.
In 2011 a new ideas aroused to convert the former maintenance hut into a cosy garden-cottage. It took about two months to successfully finalize it and the result is an additional accommodation for 2-3 persons in a rustic Pinoy style with a lovely tropical garden view.
ChARTs management keeps a close eye on permanent maintenance and European cleaning standards to make sure the entire place will be in very good condition. Besides owner Sonja has always new innovations and ideas to improve and add new features, services and amenities to the resort, which makes ChARTs to a unique & special place in Alona Beach.
