Food/Drinks

The Filipino cuisine is a mixture of Philippine, Spanish, Chinese and American influences. In particular well-known fast-food chains have restaurants in many big cities all over the Philippines.

Traveling around the Islands can be a culinary adventure: Restaurants especially those in bigger cities and tourist regions offer a huge variety of international dishes. Whereas smaller islands and regions off the beaten track offer more traditional dishes which range from seafood to such delicacies as sucking pig.

If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you will have a hard time in the meat-loving Philippines.

Fortunately, excellent fruits and vegetables are widely available, and every village has at least one stand with colorful wares on display. The Philippine mango was listed as the world`s sweetest fruit.
