This week we could note down more sucess in "press release" in the Philippines...

First was the article in the BOHOL CRONICLE, April 27 (local news from Tagbilaran) with some nice report about the Grand Opening and the 1.Vernissage of the ART-Cafe.

Second followed a detailed report on Sunday, may 11th about ChARTs Resort, the ART-Cafe and the off-the-beaten-track-tours of Sonja in the national wide PHILIPPINE STAR.

We hope that good news like that will spread out the name of ChARTs also in the local market.

At the beginning of May we had again another ASIA-night with a yummieh buffet. Because of the good resonance from the first event we invited our guests again for a dinner under the stars.

Served food from different Asian countries the people could pick their favorite and also some more friendship has been born during this evening.

Further events are are planned.

April 30th we had surprise morning:

12 well known artists (members of the "tuesday group"), mostly from Manila visited the ART-Cafe.

After a typical Philippino breakfast the artists had time to look around the Cafe and the Resort. All liked the place very much and spontaneously convinced Sonja to sit as a modell for a "on the spot" sketch.

It was a great and exciting morning and we apprechiate the artist's visit very much and hope to see them soon again!

Sunday, April 20th 2008...exciting moment! Official Grand Opening of the first ART-Cafe in Bohol and first VERNISSAGE of Boholanos artists.

The weather was great and we were able to present some of the pictures in our resort garden.

Four artist from Bohol have been involved: Henri Cainlet, Wee Wee, Joyle Alipala and "Mama Nene" Langey, one of the senior artist & already famous in the Philippines and with her 78 years probably the oldest visitor of todays exibit.

Quite a few people found their way to ChARTs and could marvel the different pictures and sculptures.

To make sure that people not only indulge the "food" for their eyes, the Cafe offered some of our delicacies: fingerfood, tropical fruit punch, cake & coffee.

We also hope that the attended journalists will do a good job in writing nice articles about our event...;-)

But we from the ChARTs team had a great time and we ended the day with a nice team-dinner under the stars.

Today we celebrate the first event of hopefully a lot more events in the future on the terrace of ChART-Cafe.

Sitting under the stars our in house guests and also some guests from another resort could indulge the yummie and diversified ASIA -Buffet.

Green-Thai-Curry, Indian and Philippine dishes plus good wine, cocktails and homemade coffees prelude a nice start for a wonderful night which ends just after midnight.

Hope we can soon repeat such a nice evening.

The sun was shining on Easter Sunday and we had a perfect start for the opening of the ART-CAFÉ.

Finally we can’t only offer our various breakfast menus – all named after famous artists – to our in house guests, but also to our “walk-in” guests.

We have delicacies for the stomach and for the eyes in terms of pictures and art work of local artists.

Next target will be the 1^st Vernissage in April.

From March 13^th to 14^th we have been presenting ourselves the first time since the opening of ChARTs resort, in this case the „3rd trabajo sa tourismo fair“ in SM - Mall in Cebu city. Following a friend’s invitation, who was one of the fair organizer, ChARTs was the only representative of the island of Bohol and Panglao/Alona Beach.

It was a superb chance to do some self-advertisement, to look out for qualified employees and to establish connections.

The planning was very spontaneous because Sonja got the information for the attendance just 5 days before the fair’s opening, therefore the booth war more or less “improvisational”, but still following the typical unique style of ChARTs: colour-and fanciful.

Immediately on the morning of the first day one of the thousands of applicants, who were lining up at the trade hall entrance, attracted our attention: Jennifer.

We, Adel, Joyle and I put her to the acid and we were also in the focus of the national Philippine press for the first “on the spot” hiring.

As a consequence of this fair we had a great time and success. Kindly we would also be asked to join the next job fair in Manila in May this year, where we have another chance to present ChARTs…this time we have a little bit more time for preparation

Dear customers,

Who travelled in the Philippines or in  another 3-world-country before knows that the desired timing is not always  the same timing in reality..;-)...

In this case we needed to wait for the necessary permits and also we had a delay because of the many additional ART-details we made...

But now we can present the ChARTs-ART-Café.

In the next weeks we will have an intensive training with the staff and we  will try out more diverse yummieh food, so you really can indulge our homemade cake, the fresh brewed coffee and other fine dishes.

Still our houseguests will get served the breakfast on their own terrace or new in the ART-Café.

That all will be take place in a relaxed and comfy atmoshere with nice chillout-music.

We hope we will set a landmark in popular tourist zone Panglao / Alona Beach.
